Safe Storage and Use of Medicines

NHS Funded Services

Repeat Prescription Collection and Delivery Service*
We offer a repeat prescription collection service from selected local surgeries. This is designed to make your life easier and means that next time you start to run out of your medicines, all you need to do is contact us by telephone or email to let us know, and leave the rest to us. We also offer a delivery service to your home if you are unable to come to the pharmacy. Please ask staff for more details on how to register for this service. *Housebound patients

Medicines Sales
We keep a wide range of over the counter medicines and also vitamins and mineral supplements. Our pharmacist and team have been specially trained to give you professional advice on their use should you need them.

Medicine Dosage Aids and Trays
Some elderly and vulnerable patients find it easier to cope with their medicines if they are arranged and supplied in monitored dosage trays. These are designed to enable the patient to comply with the daily requirements for accurate dosing intervals and avoid accidental over and under-dosing. If you feel that this service would be of benefit to you or someone you know or care for, please let us know and we will demonstrate the value and effectiveness of these tray systems. We may even be able to supply some free of charge depending on the prescription needs of the patient and other circumstances.

Emergency Supplies
If you need one of your regular medicines in an emergency when you are unable to contact your doctor, we may be able to help. We must stress that this can only be done in genuine emergencies and it may incur a charge although in the majority of cases we will contact your doctor to see if they are able to cover us for the supply in which case the charge will be waived.

Holiday Healthcare
We are able to offer advice on potential health risks to customers wishing to undertake foreign travel. We carry up-to-date information on world-wide vaccine and malaria prevention recommendations. If you would like any more information about any of the services mentioned, please ask a member of staff or telephone the number on the front of this leaflet.
